Bianca Forte is a seasoned venture builder with experience navigating complex, cross-sector opportunities in innovation management and partnership development. A vocal champion for women entrepreneurship, she serves on national panels to strengthen the UK ecosystem for agri-tech innovation. She is a sought-after speaker on topics including the role of regulation in shaping investment decisions and the importance of grants in translating science outputs.
Bianca holds a first degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul in her native Brazil. During her undergraduate studies, she gained research experience in crop biotechnology and animal health projects. With an interest in innovation and sustainability, she moved to the UK in 2004 where she earned an MSc in Environmental Management for Business from Cranfield University.
Bianca began her career here conducting technology assessments for public and private investors. She went on to design and coordinate collaborations between academia and industry, gaining experience working with scientists and executives and building a track record in securing funding for innovation projects and new ventures. During the pandemic years in which Bianca helped our CTO start SugaROx, she earned an MBA in Agribusiness from ESALQ/USP in São Paulo (Brazil) through distance learning.
As Business Development Director of our venture, Bianca leads the development of our go-to-market strategy and commercial positioning. She also forges the strategic collaborations required with commercial players to accelerate validation and commercialisation of our products across major agricultural markets. In addition, she creates opportunities for direct involvement of farmers in our applied research, with the view to identify and address potential barriers for adoption in key markets. Finally, working alongside our CEO and CTO, she has helped us secure £5.3M in private and public investment for different phases of our venture.
