Biostimulants for
global food security

OUR Mission

To increase the productivity, resilience, sustainability and profitability of crop production

To feed a global population projected to reach 9.8 billion people by 2050, crop production has to increase by up to 60% in developed countries and 200% in developing ones. That is a massive challenge, and opportunity, for farmers.

We are harnessing science to develop a new generation of biostimulants to help farmers boost crop yields. Our solutions also aim to make crops more resilient to challenging weather conditions like droughts, protecting yields.

Our Solution

Our formulations are based on active ingredients inspired by powerful natural plant molecules. To enable effective uptake following a foliar application on crops, we synthesize proprietary versions of those molecules.

This approach, developed by Rothamsted Research and Oxford University, is based on 25+ years of cutting-edge science. We have an exclusive worldwide licence to their patented technology.

Our Pipeline of Products

The flagship active ingredient in our pipeline is a proprietary version of trehalose-6-phosphate (T6P), a sugar with critical role in carbon use and allocation. T6P acts on that through the inhibition of SnRK1, an energy-regulating enzyme.

Our first product is a T6P biostimulant for wheat. Applied by spray using typical farm equipment during grain filling, our product enables farmers to direct more carbon allocation in the crop towards the grain, increasing yield.

Glasshouse results published by Rothamsted and Oxford in Nature in 2016 showed the potential of this proprietary T6P to increase wheat yields by of up to 20%. For more information on the research by the academic co-founders of our venture, click here.

Since licensing the proprietary T6P in Feb 2021, we have launched a network of field trials in the UK, Canada, United States, European Union, India and Brazil, showing equally exciting results for wheat in a real-world environment.

The T6P mechanism is universal in all plants. Through glasshouse trials, we have demonstrated the effectiveness of the proprietary T6P with barley, oats, maize, sorghum, millet, and strawberry. Work is underway on soybean and tomato.
